Our Faith

At Mary Immaculate School, we seek to nurture the spiritual and emotional development of our students by providing a strong foundation in the Catholic faith. Our students benefit from faith formation through daily religion classes, weekly Mass and monthly service opportunities. Each school day begins with prayer, and Christian values are woven into our curriculum. Older students are paired with younger prayer partners to inspire both partners in their spiritual growth.

Sacramental preparation is an integrated part of the curriculum, with a focus on Reconciliation & First Communion in second grade and Confirmation in eighth grade.

Faculty members mentor students, and guidance programs focus on developing positive self-image and interpersonal skills as well as helping students take ownership for achieving academic success and making responsible choices.

Religion Classes

As part of our curriculum, Mary Immaculate School uses Be My Disciples to introduce and reinforce the timeless truths of our Catholic faith—doctrine, Scripture, and the liturgical year—every year on every grade level to provide a transformative catechesis encouraging the integration of faith and life. The religion curriculum also includes a web-based component, which students and their families can access to enhance faith formation at home and at school.

Weekly School Masses

We invite you to join us for the full body student Masses, which are held on most Fridays during the school year (see the school calendar for exceptions at http://mischool.org/pages/School_Year_Calendar.) School Masses are celebrated every Friday with students participating as greeters, lectors, altar servers, and choir and band members. These faith celebrations give students the opportunity to extend classroom learning and come together as a Catholic community. Parents and guests are encouraged to attend and are also invited to other prayer services during the school year, which includes praying the rosary, Stations of the Cross, and May Crowning.

Service Projects

Community service is one way that our students work to incorporate their faith in their daily life and it is also an integral part of the religion curriculum. In addition to various classroom projects such as letters to our military or book collections for local hospitals, school-wide service projects are implemented on a monthly basis. These student-led service opportunities not only build a strong sense of community, but also develop self-esteem, leadership skills, sensitivity to cultural and economic differences, and an enhanced social awareness.  For a list of service projects for this school year, please click here.
