In 1982, MIS created the Annual Giving Campaign to help solve one of the key challenges in Catholic education today: to keep tuition rates affordable for all families who desire a Catholic education for their children, and to ensure the future of Mary Immaculate School.
Since it's beginning, MIS has used the campaign to build an endowment, ease the gap between tuition and the true cost of what it takes to educate our students, and jump-start programs and projects. This has included refurbishing the junior high wing, providing computers and software for the library, setting up and enhancing the computer lab, enabling tuition assistance and developing the music, art, speech and drama programs. It has also provided seed money for the Alphaphonics and Contents Mastery Programs, and for the renovation of the old church building into a regulation-size gymnasium and full size art room.
The endowment fund reached the $1,000,000 mark in August 2011.
As of October 1, 2011, Annual Giving donations are used in two ways to ensure a future of quality Catholic education at MIS:
-
10% of contributions, not to exceed $10,000 annually, will continue to feed into the school’s endowment fund.
-
90% now subsidizes the MIS operating budget, thus bridging the tuition gap and funding school enhancements.
We invite you to express your faith and belief in Catholic education with a gift to the Annual Giving Program. Together we can continue the tradition of generosity and the tradition of quality education at Mary Immaculate School. |
