MIS ALUMNI EVENTS/REUNIONS

This past year, Mary Immaculate Parish opened its arms even wider to embrace MIS alumni by inviting alumni classes to use the Parish Hall for class reunion events. Two groups, MIS Class of 1990 and MIS Class of 1965, came forward to celebrate their reunions in the Hall and both planning teams had positive feedback regarding their events. Both class reunion groups took up collections in support of the MIS Vision Annual Giving Campaign (see page 10 for more info on Vision.) Many thanks to both the Class of ‘90 for their donation of $300 to Vision, and the Class of ‘65 for their $410 donation.

The MIS Office of Advancement can help in promoting your reunion by aiding in your search for missing classmates and by placing notices of your event in the Texas Catholic, church bulletin, school website, alumni newsletters, and school/church Facebook fan pages. Alumni Celebrated at Special Mass

Catholic Schools Week is an annual national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing an education that emphasizes not only academics, but also spiritual, moral, and social values. On Sunday, January 29th , we will kick off Catholic Schools Week with a student-led 10:30 a.m. Mass and reception honoring all MIS alumni. Celebrated each year in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week, the Alumni Mass has gathered quite a number of former MIS students in prayer and fellowship, and the numbers are increasing each time! We hope to see you here!

Heads Up for Valentine’s Weekend

Alumni, don’t settle for the same old way to celebrate Valentine’s day...instead, join us at the MIS Heart of Gold Auction and Dinner on Saturday, February 11, 2012 for a fun and exciting way to dine with your sweetheart, catch up with old friends and champion a great cause! This year’s Heart of Gold celebration includes a delicious four-course meal, music and dancing to an incredible band and live/big board/silent auctions. This all takes place at the Intercontinental Hotel, so tell your sweetheart that you already know where you would like to celebrate!
