Kindergarten Program Highlights

Catechesis of the

Good Shepherd

Our Kindergarten mustangs participate in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. It is an approach to the religious formation of children grounded in Sacred Scripture, Catholic Doctrine, Liturgy and Prayer.  Themes are presented in such a way as to develop the religious potential present in every child:  the capacity to love and be loved and be in a deep relationship with God. To learn more about Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, click here.

Greenhouse

Our newest addition to our Mary Immaculate community, our Greenhouse takes learning beyond the classroom. Our mustangs visit the MIS Greenhouse to experience the circle of life, play in the dirt, tend to their plants, and practice responsibility in nurturing life.

Physical Education

To encourage a positive formation of body and mind, our youngest mustangs participate in P.E. 5 times a week. Our P.E. curriculum allows them to learn, move, and have fun, engaging their body and mind daily.

Prayer Buddies

A cherished tradition at MIS, Kindergarten students are mentored by their 6th grade Prayer Buddies. Kindergarten and 6th grade Prayer Buddies grow their friendship through play time, holiday celebrations, sitting together at weekly Mass, and so much more. Prayer Buddies stay together until 2nd and 8th grade where our Buddies grow in faith celebrating the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
