Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Preschool Atrium

Register your child for a one-hour Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium, a method of faith formation in the Montessori tradition. Atrium is offered for 3, 4, and 5 year olds who are fully potty trained. The session runs from September through May. Classes are available on Mondays from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. or Fridays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., when school classes are in session. You do not need to be an enrolled school family to participate in this Atrium.

What is an Atrium

An Atrium is a specially prepared place for children to learn to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd through their prayer works.

What is Catechesis of the good shepherd?

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children grounded in Sacred Scripture, Catholic Doctrine, Liturgy and Prayer.  Themes are presented in such a way as to develop the religious potential present in every child:  the capacity to love and be loved and be in a deep relationship with God.

CGS was developed by Dr. Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Giobbi in Rome in 1954 and spread throughout the world.  It is used in homes, parishes, and schools.
